Director of Printing Services

Nature and Purpose

The Director of Printing Services directs the print shop staff and manages the operations of the print shop for the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service. The Director also performs training and is responsible for external print shop sales and marketing.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Ability to manage all aspects of the print shop operations; to make recommendations for efficient operations, and to implement changes in an effective manner.

• Ability to utilize Banner Stores inventory and keep perpetual inventory on computer.

• Ability to manage departmental budget, including ability to calculate job costs with  estimating software and to bill for the work completed; to plan, organize and supervise work; to operate various printing equipment, forklift, and pallet jack.

• Ability to effectively supervise and communicate with employees and print shop internal and external clientele; to perform personnel management tasks; and to work with equipment and supply vendors.

Relationships

• Works under immediate supervision of the Associate Director for Finance and Administration.

• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with superiors, associates, subordinates, and favorably represents Extension to other higher education institutions, government agencies and the general public.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• High School graduate, B.S. degree preferred

• Five Years of advanced structure training in printing techniques and practices.

• Seven years of experience in various phases of printing, knowledge of the operation and care of printing equipment, and knowledge of printing supply materials.
