Nature and Purpose
The Custodial Supervisor II is a staff member of the Cooperative Extension Service,
University of Arkansas.
The Custodial Supervisor II position involves giving work leadership to the general
cleaning of the Cooperative Extension Service state headquarters facility.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
• Provides work leadership to custodial staff.
•
Trains employees in methods and procedures for cleaning and maintaining proper
standards.
•
Handles special cleaning assignments.
•
Orders and maintains inventory of cleaning supplies.
•
Performs routine inspections of work areas assigned to other custodial staff.
•
Notifies supervisor of maintenance and repairs needed.
•
Performs general custodial duties as required.
•
Performs other duties as assigned.
Relationships
•
Administratively responsible to the Director of Physical Plant.
•
Receives day-to-day instructions from the Assistant Director of Physical Plant.
•
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with superiors and associates.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
•
Completion of sufficient education or training to read and write.
•
Three years of experience in custodial work or related area, including one year in a
supervisory capacity, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and
Abilities
•
Knowledge of cleaning methods and procedures.
•
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
•
Ability to operate equipment and to use cleaning agents required.
•
Ability to supervise employees performing custodial duties.
•
Ability to maintain records and inventory supplies.
•
Ability to conduct inspections to determine compliance with standards.
•
Ability to perform manual labor under varying working conditions.
•
Ability to do required lifting.
