Summary: Establishes a procedure for maintaining a file of job descriptions for each job within the organization. Definitions:Position Description: A document describing the major duties/tasks/responsibilities performed by the incumbent in a specific position within a job category. Procedures for Establishing Descriptions: Whenever a new job is to be established in the organization, a position description should be prepared by the hiring supervisor and submitted to the Department of Human Resources for review along with a E.H.I.R.E. -112, Request for Position Vacancy. Format: Use template E.P.E.R.S.-129, Position Description, to prepare a position description for a new job or for updating a current position. Position descriptions will be reviewed by the Director of Human Resources, then passed on to the Associate Vice President Agriculture - Extension for approval prior to the announcing of a new position. The approved copy with signature will be maintained in a file in the Human Resources Office.
