John W. White, Outstanding County Extension Educator

Summary/Objective: The objective of the John W. White Outstanding County Extension Educator Award is to recognize county faculty of the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service who have made notable and outstanding contributions to the mission of the Cooperative Extension Service.

Eligibility:

Any county faculty member of the Cooperative Extension Service is eligible. Faculty who have received this award within the past five years are not eligible.

Nomination Process

Nomination: A faculty member may be nominated for the John W. White Outstanding County Extension Educator Award by any organizational unit of the Cooperative Extension Service, by any faculty member, or by an organization of Extension employees.

Length of Nomination: The nomination document may not be more than three pages (single spaced), plus appended materials (letters or other supporting documents). Portions of the nomination document beyond the first three pages will not be considered.

Deadline: Completed nomination documents must be received in the office of the Associate Vice President for Agriculture on or before Monday, January 16, 2006.

Nomination Documents & Selection Criteria

The following items will be used as criteria for evaluation and selection of the award recipient and should be included in the nomination packet:

A brief vitae that highlights Extension programmatic assignments and includes a listing of academic training and dates of appointments at the University of Arkansas.

A description of major programmatic accomplishments.

Evidence of recognition by community or professional organization(s).

Evidence of activities designed for professional growth.

Evidence of involvement in civic affairs.

Letters of support (maximum of three), including one from a peer, one from a supervisor, and one from a program client. The letters should address and will be evaluated for the nominee's ability to plan, implement, and evaluate Extension educational programs.
