Summary: Establishes policies for participation in the University of Arkansas Group Health Insurance Program. Employees have the option of participating in the University of Arkansas group health insurance program. QualChoice of Arkansas, Inc., plan administrator, processes all claims for the University of Arkansas medical insurance plan. Employees may choose from two programs:
The Classic Plan has a lower monthly premium because health care is handled through a Primary Care Physician (P.C.P.). The employee and each family member covered by the plan are required to select a Primary Care Physician from the QualChoice Directory of Network Providers. The Point of Service Plan does not require selection of a Primary Care Physician. This plan gives the employee flexibility either to choose health care services from an out-of-network provider when needed or to select a QualChoice Network provider. Choosing an out-of-network provider, however, will result in more out-of-pocket expense. When a QualChoice Network provider is selected, out-of-pocket expense will be less and benefits will be similar to those of the Classic Plan.
