Summary: Establishes policies and procedures for participation in the University of Arkansas Long-Term disability Plan for Extension employees. The University of Arkansas Long-Term Disability Insurance (L.T.D.) guarantees an income for a totally disabled employee after a six month waiting period. Benefits start on the 181 st day of disability. There are two coverages: Basic Long Term Disability: Basic L.T.D. provides disability benefits of 60% of the employee's salary up to a maximum salary of $20,000, free of cost to the employee. All employees are automatically covered. The maximum monthly benefit is $1000. Optional Long-Term Disability: Employees with salary above $20,000 have the option of participating in Optional L T D. This coverage provides disability benefits of 60% of the portion of salary that is above $20,000. Return to Fringe Benefits Index |
