2007-2008 Brownbag Lunch Training Sessions
Training for Specialists on the GO!

What

A series of lunch time training opportunities that address both professional and quality of life issues for AACES members. The professional development seminars and "pot-luck" are free to AACES members. Non-members can also attend for a minimal charge at the door. Membership is only $10.00, so if you aren't a member, this might be a great time to join and be a part of the fellowship & fun.

Why

The seminars will provide information for support of AACES member’s work/life enrichment. The topics were selected through a survey of AACES members.

When

12:15-12:45 P.M – Training will be conducted during the lunch hour utilizing a "brown bag" format. A pot of beans/soup and/or salad will be provided for those arriving early, at no cost to members (thus the training series title: "Beans & Brains & Things"). A 30 minute educational program will be delivered at each session. If you don't like "pot-luck," then just BYOL.

Cool Tools! "Café" – October 10, 2007

WiFi. PSP. Blackberry. PDA. iPod. Bluetooth. Webcam. What is all this stuff anyway? Bet your teenager knows! Even if computers and cell phones are part of your life, technology is changing rapidly, and the tools we use for communication -- and productivity -- are changing too! Come get a friendly introduction to the "cool tools" of today. You'll leave with a solid base to build on, as technology continues to change!

Preparing for Promotion – September 12, 2007

So you want to be promoted? This panel discussion will be led by colleagues who received promotions within the past couple of years. This how to session will provide an overview of what you need to include in a promotion document, tips for understanding what a promotion committee will be looking for and samples of successful documents.
